Dr. Sheetal Vora Receives 2025 Nancy Griffin QI Award

Dr. Sheetal Vora (Atrium Health Levine Children’s) was honored with the Nancy Griffin Quality Improvement Award for 2025.

The Nancy Griffin Quality Improvement Award is given yearly to an individual who meets three essential criteria: Improves Care and Outcomes, Embodies the Spirit of Nancy Griffin, and Impacts the Network Community.

The award honors Nancy Minnick-Griffin, who was a beloved longtime Quality Improvement Specialist for PR-COIN at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital before losing her life to cancer in 2022. Nancy was well known and loved for her joyful and positive attitude, expansive knowledge, and generosity with her time. She encouraged teams to always focus on the outcome of improving care and the lives of patients and families.

Dr. Vora’s nomination highlighted how she exemplifies the spirit of the award across all criteria:

Improves Care and Outcomes: Dr. Vora has built a career and earned recognition for her work in improving care and outcomes in children with rheumatic diseases, including JIA, through quality improvement. She has several grants and publications in this area.

Embodies the Spirit of Nancy Griffin: The nominator noted that Dr. Vora, while being a busy clinician, educator, and leader, has exemplified “the joyful and dedicated spirit of Nancy’s work in quality improvement”. She is described as the coworker, collaborator, leader, friend and smile you didn’t know you needed and now can’t picture your life and career without, reflecting the same sentiments shared about Nancy.

Impacts the Network Community: Dr. Vora has been a dedicated leader in the efforts of PR-COIN. Through her commitment to collaboration and authentic concern for perspectives, she embodies the spirit of PR-COIN and is critical in sustaining the work of this wonderful organization.

Congratulations again, Dr. Sheetal Vora!
